Meeting Report 22 Jun 2008

Cornwall Solo Grass Track Club held a successful Youth meeting on Sunday with a competitive days racing in all classes.

Edmund Best (Leicestershire) was the dominant force in the Auto Cadets recording a six ride maximum score with Tom Brennan (Wiltshire) taking second and Mary Gribble (Carnkie) in third. Callan Phillips (Bugle) was equally dominant in the Cadets taking all six races ahead of Best in second and Saul Bulley (Crediton) third.

Robert Lambert (Norfolk) claimed 5 out of 6 heats to claim the Juniors ahead of James Shanes (Dorset) who took the other win in the class with third going to Jack Jones (Gloucestershire). Tyler Govier (Exeter) claimed 5 third places but a first heat fall left him fourth in the overall standings.

In the Inters Josh Dingle’s day ended before the first race with an engine failure. This left Lewis Leah (Penzance) looking set to be the star of the day until running wide in the first heat allowing Darryl Ritchings (Swindon) and Nathan Stoneman (Tiverton) through. Leah recovered to chase down the pair with all three crossing the line in close company. Unfortunately for Leah a wrist injury ended his day early as he took no further part in the meeting. Ritchings went on to claim the other five heats to take class honours ahead of Stoneman second and Jake Quintrell (Illogan) third.
