Cornwall Solo Grass Track Club host the penultimate meeting of the season at Truthan Farm, St Erme on Sunday (27th August) with the clubs annual 'Grand Slam' meeting to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the clubs involvement with the sport in Cornwall. A total of 54 races are programmed across all the classes with over 85 competitiors booked in for the event.

In the solo's local riders Wayne Barrett and Kevin Williams face competition from visiting riders John Weeks and Steve Leigh for class honours while club regulars Gavin Horsburgh and Shaun Pascoe should also feature strongly in the 27 rider solo field. Wiltshire's Charlie Saunders makes his Cornwall debut in the Adult classes after an impressive run of results so far this season.

In the 1000cc Sidecar class 12 outfits will take to track. Local drivers Phil Syms, Joseph Sturtridge, Jamie Bree, Lee Hicks, Wayne Westaway & Stephen Palmer. Out of county competitors include Alfie Pearn, Jim Pearn, Gary Ball, Tim Warren and first time Cornwall competitors Aubrey Steel & Darryl Sweetland.

The race program takes on a different format with a number of qualifying races to earn places in A & B finals for both Solo and Sidecar classes. The club is grateful to the local businesses who have offered sponsorship for the meeting and allowed the club to pay prize money on all the adult races.

Quads make a welcome return to Cornwall with 7 drivers booked in including Blackwater's Peter Pollard.

A strong youth entry, with a total of 30 entrants, of across the four classes promises plenty of close racing, especially in the ultra competitive Intermediates class.

The venue will be signposted from the A30 Carland Cross Roundabout. Admission is £6 for Adults, £3 for Senior Citizens and Children Under 14 Free. Practice starts at 11.30am with racing at 1pm. Refreshments and Toilets will be available on site during the day.
